About the Artist – Jessica Dénomée:

My name is Jessica Dénommée and I am a recent graduate from Laurentian University about to pursue my studies by taking a masters in applied psychology. I have always enjoyed doing art as a past time. Since my dream is to one day be a qualified psychologist or psychiatrist for children, I thought why not help out children as much as I possibly can before getting my final degree. This is the second year that I take part in this charity event as a local artist, and I must say what a great way to help kids. The theme of my chair this year is “All the flowers of all tomorrows are in the seeds of today” because I believe that we should always put the children first as they are the key to our future, and a beautiful gift that we shouldn’t take for granted.

About the Artist:

Hi! My name is Julie-Anne Bolduc. I’m a certified Teacher in Ontario from the University of Ottawa. I’m bilingual and from Northern Ontario. Born in Thunder Bay but lived for a few years in Longlac. I grew up in Temiskaming Shores, went to University at Wilfrid Laurier in Waterloo and traveled teaching English in Asia for two years. I love to travel, read, paint and write. I started painting and writing. following a severe concussions and further health issues.   I have numerous severe allergies that prevent me from having a "normal" life. You can see some of my paintings here: www.facebook.com/JABsColours/. I have a passion for writing and painting, but never really took the time to pursue them enough. Eventually I had so many paintings that I decided I should sell them and see if I could ease my medical expenses. I have had some paintings commissioned by Laurentian University, on display at Science North Museum and participated in the Northern Lights Festival in Sudbury. I was a runner up for the lyrics section for the contest songoftheyear, the one that Meghan Trainor won the whole contest that help to make her famous. I was part of the Sudbury Junction playwrights of 2016. Ten minutes of my play was read on stage, amongst other even more amazing talented playwrights. I was really excited to help out with this chair because it was a chance for me to give back to the community and society I live in.  I'm really proud that I was able to help out. Thank you!

About the Artist:

Hi there, my name is Madison Goddard, and I'm 19 years old. I'm a social work student at Laurentian University, and painting is my passion. I've only been painting at Madi's Wall and Canvas for roughly one year now, but it is what truly keeps me going. As a former Miss Teen Sudbury, I love doing volunteer and charity work, so being able to paint these two unique wildlife chairs, was truly a pleasure of mine! As a child, my life was always surrounded by art, music, and fun opportunities, and just knowing that I will be able to help others have the same opportunities that I was given, is only a dream come true!

About the Artist – Catherine Desormeaux:

Hello, I’m Catherine Desormeaux and this year I’ve chosen to up the stakes, tackle a second chair with the help of my coworkers and kids at my daycare at the CPTM St-Joseph Sudbury site. So grateful for their help and support. As a full time registered ECE, the idea of getting the kids involved came from watching my wonderful mother, a teacher by trade. She always had an outstanding voice and shared it her students to create a choir. I wanted to do the same and involve my coworkers and toddlers. May this chair open your eyes to teamwork of all ages. I’d like to dedicate this chair to my lovely mother. I love you very much. Thanks for showing me that the student or child is not the only one learning.

Winning Bid Amount

$115.00

About the Artist – Catherine Desormeaux:

Hello, I’m Catherine Desormeaux and this is my second year helping out with this event. My first chair is to represent my love of music. I’ve always loved all styles of music thanks to my amazing father. He introduced me everything from Nat King Cole, Patsy Cline, The temptations, to Celine Dion, Patti Labelle, etc. My personal favorite has always been country.  Hearing the lyrics, the beat and just the overall sound helps me overcome anything. May this chair help you fallow the beat of your heart and soul. I’d like to dedicate this chair to my brilliant father, whom I love very much. Thanks for showing me “I”ve got a new attitude!”.

About the Artist – Fran Robillard:

She has painted and drawn as a hobby ever since she was a child. My favourite medium is oil, but she does like acrylics, inks, markers, and coloured pencils as she likes to experiment and try new things. She started volunteering for SMCH after she had her son, he had a friend who would go to camp every summer, He enjoyed and looked forward to his time at camp and would not of been able to have this experience without the support. The charity chair event motivated me and allowed me to participate by using her art to try to make an impact in helping the children in our community.
